Photoshop pattern tip

Several times I have tried to create a cool seemless pattern in photoshop and only save it inside the pat.library in photoshop. When I later want to edit that pattern I did not know what size or where I should cut the pattern if I filled a new doc with it. But, maybe you already know, I never realized it is possible to hover the pattern thumbnail and get the dimensions so you can create a new doc the correct size and fill that.

Som relativt ny mac bruger har jeg ofte undret mig over flere ting. Her vil jeg skrive et par tip der kan være gavnlige – hvis du ikke skulle kende til dem i forvejen.

DOKUMENTSTIEN?

Q: Hvordan sender eller gemme jeg en sti til et dokument så andre kan finde det?

A: Vælg mappen eller filen og klik ⌘+i (COMMAND+i). I pop-op vinduet vil du se stien under “hvor:” som du så kan copy/paste til andre.

Q: Hvordan kan jeg så selv åbne en sti jeg har gemt?

A: Det er så enkelt at man bare skal klikke SHIFT+COMMAND+G , og paste din adresse ind.

Q: Hvad hvis stien linker til en server?

A: Så klikker du COMMMAND+K i stedet for.

SKÆRMBILLEDER?

Q: OK – jeg ved jeg kan tage et skærmbillede på min mac, der gemmes på skrivebordet, med COMMAND+SHIFT+3 (fullskærm) eller COMMAND+SHIFT+4 (udsnit), men kan man ikke gemme sit screenshot i computerens RAM og clipboard?

A: Jo – Så kan du klikke CTRL ned også dvs. COMMAND+SHIFT+CONTROL+3 (fullskærm) eller COMMAND+SHIFT+CONTROL+4 (udsnit) og derefter paste billedet ind i dit program.

Q:På windows kan jeg holde ALT nede for at kun tage et snapshot af et aktivt vindue – kan jeg det på mac?

A: Ja – når du når du tager et udsnitsbillede med COMMAND+SHIFT+4 eller COMMAND+SHIFT+CONTROL+4 - så trykker du på MELLEMRUMSTASTEN for at skifte til et kamera der marker det vindue du tager et screendump af. Du kan trykke på MELLEMRUM igen for at skifte tilbage til krydsmarkøren.

Var der noget her du ikke vidste? jeg har i hvertfald fået lettet mit arbejdsflow

FILEPATHS MAC

As a fairly new mac user – there a some things I did not know how to do…- Maybe the following tips will be helpfull for you too?

Q: How do I get a document path to my files and folders?

A: Choose the folder or file and click ⌘+i (COMMAND+i). In the pop-up you will find the path next to “where” and can now copy /paste it.

Q: How can I open a path-link?

A: Simply click SHIFT+COMMAND+G , and paste your path.

Q: What if the path is on a server?

A: Then you use COMMMAND+K instead.

Screenshots?

Q: Ok I alreaddy know how to use COMMAND+SHIFT+3 (fullscreen) eller COMMAND+SHIFT+4 (cutout), BUT how can i copy it to the clipboard instead of the desktop?

A: Then also hold CTRL down…so: COMMAND+SHIFT+CONTROL+3 (fullscreen) eller COMMAND+SHIFT+CONTROL+4 (cutout) and then paste the image into your software.

Q:On windows I can hold down ALT-key to only take a screenshot of the active window- is this possible on my mac?

A:YES – when you use COMMAND+SHIFT+4 or COMMAND+SHIFT+CONTROL+4 – you then click SPACEBAR before dragging out a window. The cursor swaps to a camera that hightlights the window you want to capture. You can click SPACEBAR again to return to the original crosshair cursor.

Thank you for reading this journal “Hooked“. If you back up and go to the main site www.hoek.dk it has been redesigned with a lot of personal & professional work. It has been designed for viewing on the Ipad and smartphones – It got a cool menu that flows around.. unfortunately it floats a bit too much when viewed on chrome.. well I cant fix it – im only a semi-nerd.
